My diagnosis is that you’ve experienced a severe anxiety attack. Me?

this gifset. THIS GIFSET. op i cannot articulate how much this means to me but i’m sure as heck gonna try.

iron man saves the world. like, cut all the weird fandom bullshit about tony stark secretly being the villain of the mcu and face the fact that iron man saves the world. repeatedly. again and again and again. IRON MAN SAVES THE WORLD

but this? this is me pretty much day to day. today i had a mildly unpleasant conversation with my mother at lunchtime and i spent the whole rest of the day with a pile of rocks sitting in my stomach until i spoke to her again and it was fine. it’s so difficult to do stuff like that all the time and feel like you’re gonna achieve anything, ever

but tony stark gets that too. tony stark freaks out and panics and messes up cause he’s anxious and FAILS. and then tony stark saves the world

iron man was already my favourite superhero when iron man 3 came out. tony stark was already my favourite superhero when iron man 3 came out. but when iron man 3 came out and i saw iron man, THE iron man, be as obviously mentally ill as i am? that’s when tony stark became my favourite character of all time, and this gifset shows that exactly

so thanks op, i like it a lot

i keep thinking about this one post i saw about how revolutionary it was to see black panther cry and i’m still confused about it cause it specifically said something like “tony stark gets to tear up manfully but t’challa gets to openly cry and that’s so refreshing” and i’m just so confused because tony is out here having multiple anxiety attacks on screen and talking about how he should probably be on medication and this either/or mentality is so wild to me because yeah black panther is revolutionary in so many ways but he’s not the first hero to show vulnerability and seeing iron man be so openly mentally ill and still save the world is pretty damn something as well and it just means a lot to me ok

so like, i saw some discourse™️ about tony and shuri (a-fucking-gain, sigh) specifically arguing about if shuri were trapped in a cave like tony was in the first iron man movie that she’d make ~better tech~ or whatever and i just kinda feel like they’re missing the point. the point being that i never ever ever EVER want shuri to go through anything CLOSE to that situation. fuck, is she smarter with full resources? unquestionably. would she do better in a cave, with scraps, with a literal and metaphorical gun to her head, in horrible pain having just had open heart surgery with no anaesthesia and WHILST BEING TORTURED for three literal months? idk man but why would you ever want to find out you monster? just… let the girl live smh
