I mean he’s got all these devices and stuff but he hasn’t actually MADE any of them
what if he failed every single engineering class
and he can still make SOME stuff in an emergency (like in ‘the lodger’ and ‘the doctor’s wife’) but it’s all rly basic stuff and it takes him far too long to make it like other time lords could do it in half a minute
and he flat-out doesn’t understand what his engineering/quantum physics teachers were telling him
what if that’s why he lands in the wrong places/times so often
what if that’s why he was such a bad physics teacher even for humans
I like this.
Euhm yes that’s kinda accurate actually. Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t Romana insult his abilities and then he answers all indignantly like: “I passed my exams with 50% at the 2nd attempt!” Also she’s much better at repairing/piloting the tardis than he is… Same goes for K-9 and the other technical stuff.
idek man like the show and the fans always treat the doctor like he’s some big genius, all-knowing and godlike and stuff
and I guess he is in comparison to humans
but like canonically he’s a lousy driver and stole the tardis so he didn’t have to stay at home anymore and doesn’t even know stuff
I just
why isn’t it ever like a thing that the doctor was a timelord of average intelligence and a bit odd and everyone else thought he was silly and wondered why he liked humans so much
no he’s super angsty and powerful and brilliant yup that’s it
I don’t know. I always headcanoned the Doctor as basically having the Timelord equivilant of ADHD. He’s actually quite intelligent, but performed like shit in the classroom. Couldn’t sit still, wouldn’t stay in his seat half the time, wouldn’t shut up, and kept distracting that nice smart timetot (who later went on to become the Master). His essay on the historical importance of Rassilion somehow concluded with the why Earth rabbits are the best herbivore ever, his physics homework had rude doodles all over it, and his math exam was last seen flying overhead of the students and out the door. And let us not forget the day he somehow managed to gain control of all the telepathic chairs in the class.
No, the Doctor is smart, but distractable, disorganized, hyper and completely unable to focus unless it is literally life or death.
It’s been a matter of hours and already I adore asBill so much!
Time for some theories; I don’t think she’s a modern companion. She doesn’t know what a Dalek is, but she’s from London by her accent, and it was only a few years ago that the Genesis Ark was spitting out countless Daleks at the Battle of Canary Wharf. Her clothes aren’t exactly contemporary, and there’s that ‘back to the future’ line. 2017 is our future, but maybe it’s Bill’s as well. A period companion would be really interesting and fresh as well!
But we only have about 2 minutes of footage so I could be waaaaay off the mark. Either way I love her and I’m excited to see her in action… in… 20… 17…
Remember that time Daleks and Cybermen had sass-off?
THIS IS LITERALLY MY FAVE SCENE FROM DOCTOR WHO EVER I AM NOT EVEN JOKING I AM SO GLAD SOMEONE MADE A POST OF IT I THINK ABOUT THIS MORE OFTEN THAN IS NORMAL UGH IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY
No one sasses better than the Daleks and Cybermen. No one.
